Why aren’t cell number lookups free?
February 26, 2010
Is it really possible to run a free cell number reverse lookup on the Web? Many of us have been disappointed or frustrated previously with websites that appear to offer free services online, but in reality don’t. Is this the case for the cell phone reverse lookup?
To begin let’s explain what we mean by a phone number search. If you have the home phone number but no idea who the number belongs to. You may use a number lookup service like Google to see the details. Of course in situations when you lost contact with someone but still have a record of their phone number, or just to check who owns the phone number. There are many places where you can make these residential and business phone inquiries on line searches at no cost, including toll-free numbers.
However, a problem arises when you need to run a reverse lookup on a cell phone as the free databases don’t list such phone numbers. So, if you’re searching an Alaska cell phone number you will have a problem. These databases do not contain cell numbers as this information is only in the hands of carriers and telecommunications companies. Do these documents exist and are they available free?
The good news is that there are web sites that do offer a large number of cell phone numbers, but they are not free. These programs of course have to pay a premium to access some of this information, and go to the great difficulty and cost of compiling all resources in a single place and therefore, you need to pay a small fee for access to their research. Often times though, the rate is generally a single purchase and you can run as many searches as you want. These records generally include cell owner details, address , carrier information, and the phone and connection status. We should mention that the databases offered by individual companies differ to some extent, but most include cell phone numbers, residential, business, fax, toll-free and pagers. With these web sites your lookups are guaranteed legal and confidential.
We’ve seen web sites that claim to provide free cell research, but that has always led to programs charging a fee in the end. Some do allow people to search for free and then see the results. The sad truth is that the only place where you can find detailed reverse cell records is within the legitimate paid directories. To conclude, cell phone searches are not free. However, if you really want access to these records, we believe that it’s worth the cost.
